The Inspectorates of the Baltic States renewed the cooperation agreement

On Tuesday, 8 May the Directors General of the Labour Inspectorates of the Baltic States signed an agreement that updates and specifies the cooperation of the three countries for the long-term perspective.

With the renewal of the agreement the Inspectorates will continue the already established good cooperation and further increase the exchange of information and sharing the best practices. The Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian labour markets already now face similar challenges. Close cooperation is the only solution to use each other's experience and resources in the best possible way.

The signing gave a start to an annual meeting of the Inspectorates of the Baltic states during which the issues related to trafficking in human beings, recruitment of workers from third countries and the undeclared and overtime work would discussed. Experience in using IT tools in the field of occupational safety and health is also exchanged, and also which indicators are the best for evaluation of the working environment, as well as the work of the Labour Inspectorates are analysed.

The meeting of the Baltic Inspectorates is traditionally held once a year and it is organized alternately by all the Baltic States. This year’s meeting will be held in Vilnius on 7-9 May.
