The risk factors which influence the genotype, foetus, and reproduction, are recommended to be classified as follows.

Chemical substances and risk factors jeopardizing the health of women in the reproductive age

  • Genotoxic substances and risk factors
  • Hazardous substances and risk factors jeopardizing the reproductive ability

Chemical substances and risk factors that have an influence after the fertilization (during the pregnancy)

  • Substances, the package of which refers to the risk phrase: R40, R45, R46, R47, R61, R63 or R64
  • Carcinogenic substances
  • Other chemicals – anaesthetic gases, mercury and its’ compounds, carbon monoxide, lead, cytostatic drugs, organic solvents, auramines, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in coal ash, tar, pitch or smoke.
  • Biological risks – hepatitis virus (B, C), herpes virus, HI-virus, listeria, toxoplasmosis, viruses of rubella, chickenpox, measles, mumps, and cytomegalo.
  • Physical risks – ionizing radiation.

Chemicals can enter the human organism in several ways: with inhaling, swallowing, penetrating through skin, or absorbing through skin.
