Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment is when any undesired verbal, non-verbal or physical act or activity with a sexual nature occurs, with the objective or actual effect of degrading the dignity of a person by creating a disturbing, threatening, hostile, belittling, degrading or taunting atmosphere.

For example, a sexual harassment situation is when a colleague or subordinate is touched, trying to be touched, even when it is clear that it is disagreeable for the recipient.

Legally, sexual harassment has been equalized with gender discrimination. In essence, sexual harassment is a type of occupational violence.
